D.C. United - D.C. United is not only one of the ten original members of Major League Soccer’s 1996 inaugural season, but the team is considered to be the most successful to date in MLS history. D.C. United has demonstrated its ferocity and desire to exceed competition by winning two U.S. Open Cups and currently holding the record for MLS Cup and MLS Supporters’ Shields with four of each. Along with its success on U.S. soil, D.C. United has also proven to be a competitor on the international soccer scene by becoming the first American club team to win the CONCACAF Champions’ Cup and the Copa Interamericana. The team has one of the highest average attendance averages in the MLS in large part as a result of its three major supporters groups La Barra Brava, the Screaming Eagles, and La Norte. The team’s home stadium is the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium with a capacity of 45,596 seats.
